End of the School Year
I enjoyed going to Joe's end of the year program. He did such a great job in school. This year has been a good one. His teacher was wonderful and made learning so much fun. School isn't always easy for Joe because of his Tourette Syndrome. Often times his tics interfere with reading and writing. However, we made it through another year.

Joe poses with his drawing of the inside of his body.

This month is Tourette Syndrome Awareness month! I will be going to my first support group meeting in a couple of weeks. I am excited for Joe to be able to meet other kids that live with TS.

Linguine with Brooklyn Red Clam Sauce
It is rare to find a dinner recipe that everyone in the family enjoys eating. This is one of those rare finds. I found this recipe from Mark Strausman, owner of the New York restaurant, Campagna. I have changed it slightly. Have you ever checked out the Tastebook website? I have been over there compiling a book of our family favorite recipes. This recipe will definately be in the book. I am hoping to have the book finished to send with my children when they leave home.
1 pound Linguine
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves minced garlic
2 six ounce cans chopped clams with their juice
1/4 cup cooking white wine
1 can diced or crushed tomatoes
1/4 tsp.red pepper flakes
1 tsp. parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
In a large covered pot, cook the noodles according to package directions. Meanwhile, make the sauce. Over medium heat cook the garlic until golden brown in the olive oil. Then add the clams and their juice, the cooking wine, tomatoes, (if you don't like chunks, pulse in the blender), the parsley, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Remember, the clams will be salty. Simmer about 5 minutes. Drain the noodles when done and serve with sauce and freshly grated parmesan cheese. The sauce will be thin, so don't be alarmed. Serves 4-6.
Delicious!

20 Years!
Kimball & I just celebrated 20 years of marriage on May 15th. It is hard to believe that I have spent more time with him in my life than I have without him! Unfortunately, we were apart on our anniversary. He went to his brother's graduation in Wyoming. So, Heather and I stayed up late and watched North & South. We streamed it using Netflix. Wonderful movie. We both loved it! Thanks for 20 wonderful years and six beautiful children!
